wow. wow wow wow.

i cannot imagine what you guys have been/are going through.

you are so fortunate to have such wonderful, caring neighbors.

i am so glad that you & your family are safe.

Stacy

I just can't believe that your neighbor Jack STAYED and didnt leave! That is so crazy. I just cant imagine!

erika

way too close for comfort. glad you and your family are safe.

kate

oh my goodness, now I feel bad for stalking your blog and being bummed you weren't posting!! I am so glad you are fine and the house is fine, you are so lucky!! By all means that is the best excuse ever for not blogging. How are you doing? Things moving smoothly yet now? Oh man, a rocky start to the summer, but I guess the summer can really only get better, no? Take care, we blog readers are glad to know you're safe and well!!

Elisha

Oh my gosh, that's so scary. So does your house still smell like smoke? We had a similar experience one year. The fire got right up to our back door--literally. Our house stayed put, but smelled terrible for weeks to come. I have friends that live around there--the Ingoglias. Do you have any idea if their house survived?

Monica

Oh my goodness; you are guys are so blessed. I'm so glad that everything turned out OK.

Lisa E.

WOW! I am sooooo glad you all are ok! While we've been dealing with flooding out here in the midwest, you guys are dealing with fires...can't we meet in the middle and use our water to douse your fires? Seriously, glad things were not any worse. Hang in there - you'll be in my prayers!

QuiMo

I heard about ur fire on the news and was worried... glad to hear you and family are safe... I totally understand your blog cause
when we were evacuated last year I ran around like a mad woman trying to decide what to save... Thank God everything turned out ok

Olivia

So thankful that you and your family are safe and that your home survived as well. I can only imagine the fear you all must have experienced. My thoughts are with you and your neighbors as you recover from this disaster. Prayers are sent your way!

Overheard

  • "I was kicking and screaming and yelling...because I missed you."
Hoonie explaining one of his tantrums at daycare. Really, though, how could you be upset with him...especially after that last part? :)
  • "Because I tried to eat brother?"
Hoonie's response when I asked him why he got in trouble. He actually bit him, haha!
  • "I need to get some more money for my collection."
Me too, Matthew, me too! :)
  • "I don't have my eyes!"
What Hoonie meant to say was that it was so dark he couldn't see.
  • "I'm gonna go outside to split some wood...with my shirt off."
    Um, yeah...whatever Jack! :P
  • "I prefer genius."
Matthew's response to me when I referred to him as a Star Wars "nerd".
