Today we picked apples. Lots and lots of apples. I'm not sure how much a bushel is, but I'm sure we picked like a million bushels worth. Alright, so maybe not that much! But seriously, there were four grown adults—and one slightly meddlesome Hoonie—out in the orchard this morning and it took at least a good two hours to pick all them apples off (by the way, we only have four apple trees). Jack's dad brought his Chevy truck over (which I am in l-o-v-e with) and by the time all was said and done (or picked, rather), we ended up filling nearly the entire bed of his truck with apples (in boxes/containers, of course).
This one was obviously taken at the beginning of all the apple picking madness!
And just some gratuitous shots of the truck...isn't she purty?
If I had a spare $15,000.00—which, unfortunately, I don't—I would so offer to buy his truck off of him. They bought the truck (new) when Jack was one...which means that she is now 39 years old. I think she looks pretty good for her age, don't you?
And since I'm taking the time to post gratuitous pictures, here's a few of Matthew taken yesterday in the orchard. I've been feeling neglectful about not having taken pictures of (just) him in a while. Since he's at school all day, and since everything seems to get super-busy as soon as he gets home, our photo-taking opportunities have been few and far in between. So I talked him into hanging out with me yesterday afternoon to take a few shots. He's still a nut as you can see...
Matthew pretending to be a pecan tree...with arms, no less! :)
Matthew hanging out in the pecan tree.
I have no idea what this pose was about (mocking me, perhaps?)...but it still cracks me up!
And since I can't resist, here are a few of Hoonie from yesterday afternoon as well (taken just after he woke up from his nap, hence the jammies...though, really, we've been known to wear our jammies all day, but I digress...)
I think he just stuck a rock in his mouth (hate that!). And, of course, he can never resist a juicy apple! :)
Yup, it was a rock! I know because of the pleased look on his face when he knows he's doing something he's not supposed to be doing.
And, lastly, how sweet is this? Sadly, Hoonie still doesn't know how to hold hands that well yet. But he'll learn someday...and one of us will have our hands ready when he does! :)
Okay, okay...enough with the pictures crazy lady! Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. But I guess I really should get to bed now.
Nite everyone! Thanks for letting me share! :)
Oh...so super sweet...you've got some darling little boys!
