Okay, it's nearly midnight here which means it's officially giveaway time! Woohoo! ;)
Does anyone remember last April when I hosted the Simple Studio blog? Don't worry, I can barely remember it myself, hee! Anyhow, I guess that's when I held my first annual "Guess how long it took to fill up the lake!" giveaway. Well, this past Sunday (along with the help of Jack's brother and dad) we got the dam boards put in place and our creek has officially turned into a lake again. Ahhhh!
I tell you, I just love looking out our windows at this view. I honestly don't think I could ever get sick of it!
Now for those of you interested in the process of how we dam up the creek every year, you could read my old studio blog post here. I think last year it took just over 25 hours for it to fill up. Any guesses as to how long it took this year (it varies every year)? Well, that's good! Because that's how you can enter...
By the way, the fact that I took the time to create a sign in Photoshop just for this post should give you an idea of how dorky cool I really am, hehe!
So here's the deal. We put in the first dam board at 9:32 am on Sunday morning (4/20). And sometime the next day, the creek crested the top board. The person who most closely guesses how long it took for the creek to fill up and crest the top board will win a cool goodie box (think American Crafts, Scenic Route, BasicGrey, My Minds Eye, Making Memories...don't worry, it's all good stuff!). You have until 11:59 pm on Friday (PST) to post your best guess to this post and I'll announce the winner sometime on Saturday (which just so happens to be National Scrapbooking Day!). Last year, I think one of the stipulations was that you couldn't go "over" on the time, but this year...everything is fair game!
Now for a few more creek-related pictures...
I saw our boots all lined up, and drying, a couple days after we put in the dam and I just had to take a picture. Thanks, mom, for my pretty boots! :)

This one is fairly self-explanatory...it's Matthew standing by the paddleboat. Seriously though, he was so excited to get the boat into the creek this year!
And here are the boys and grandmommie going on the first paddleboat ride of the season. Incidentally, we didn't put in the boat until this past Friday (poor Matthew...he had a hard time waiting!).
No more monkey leash for Hoonie! :) This year he's sporting a very fashionable life jacket! Thanks again mom!
And with that, my second annual "Guess how long it took to fill up the lake!" giveaway is officially on! Happy guessing everyone! :)

Glad you posted a creek update this year! Have I mentioned more than once how jealous I am of your digs?
